Bernadette Walker: Woman arrested in teenager’s ‘no body’ murder investigation | UK News
Police carrying out a “no body” murder investigation after a teenager went missing seven weeks ago, have arrested a second person.
Bernadette Walker, 17, vanished from Peterborough at the end of July.
Her parents reported her missing after she had not been seen for three days.
A man in his 50s from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, and police now say that a woman in her 30s is also being held.
Detective Superintendent Jon Hutchinson said: “Due to the length of time Bernadette has been missing and concerns she may have come to some harm, we made the decision to declare this a murder investigation.
“Whilst we hope we do find Bernadette alive and well, there is every possibility this may not be the case therefore my team and I will do everything possible to find out what has happened to her and bring any offenders to justice.”
Officers are continuing to search for Bernadette, Cambridgeshire Police said.
Anyone with information on Bernadette’s whereabouts is asked to contact police and quoting ‘Operation Penshaw’.
