More photos released to mark Princess Beatrice’s wedding | UK News
Two more photographs have been released to mark Princess Beatrice’s marriage to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, showing the bride wearing a dress and jewellery lent to her by the Queen.
The wedding took place in private at Windsor on Friday after the original plans for their big day in May had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new photos above are in addition to two others released on Saturday:
Princess Beatrice wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell from the Queen’s collection.
It was altered to fit her by the Queen’s dresser and designer Angela Kelly and designer Stewart Parvin.
The Queen also allowed her granddaughter to wear the same tiara that she wore on her wedding day.
The diamond fringe tiara was originally made in 1919 for Queen Mary by Garrard and Co from a diamond necklace given by Queen Victoria for her wedding.
As with the previous two photos, neither of the new pictures show the bride’s father, the Duke of York, who stepped back from royal duties last year and has faced ongoing questions about his links with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The wedding took place at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate.
Buckingham Palace said the couple decided to hold a small private ceremony with the Queen, Prince Philip, their parents and siblings after their wedding had to be postponed in May.
Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s son, Wolfie, was best man and pageboy.
The service took place within government guidelines with no hymns sung.
The details released by the palace only refer to Prince Andrew as “her Father”, saying that he walked her down the aisle.
The understated mention of him in the details released and the absence of a full family photograph among the official pictures will be seen as unusual by some and could be interpreted as quiet acknowledgement that he remains a controversial figure for the Royal Family.
US authorities continue to want to talk to him about what he knew about Jeffrey Epstein.
The calls for his cooperation have increased following the arrest of his friend Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend.
Prince Andrew has denied any wrongdoing or seeing anything that he felt should be reported to the authorities.
His legal team have said they have offered to help but have not had any response.
