Attention all shoppers, because Amazon has announced the dates for this year’s Prime Day. The shopping event was delayed back in July, with Amazon scaling back on its promotional events when the coronavirus pandemic hit.

We’ve all had to be very patient, but we finally have the big news. Yep, that’s right. It’s time to shop.

When is Amazon Prime Day in 2020?

Prime Day 2020 will take place on Oct. 13 and run for a full 48 hours. That should be plenty of time for you to find the products you want at low prices.

If it isn’t, then you should be able to rely on Black Friday and Christmas promotions. Basically, the rescheduled Prime Day means that the year is ending on months of deals, which could be great. Or it could be a bit much. It’s too early to tell.

This year’s Prime Day is focused on small businesses. Until Oct. 12, Amazon will offer a £10 credit to use on to Prime members who spend £10 on items sold by select small businesses on the site. Once Prime Day begins, members can use their £10 credit to purchase almost any product in Amazon’s store, including from small businesses.

The best early Prime Day deals

The very best deals will drop once Prime Day has officially begun, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make significant savings before the big day.

Amazon tends to drop a few early Prime Day deals to get everyone worked up into a shopping frenzy, and it has already started the process. You can save on Amazon devices, smart home security, streaming services, and much more.

To help you start saving, we have rounded up a selection of the best early Prime Day deals:

  • Amazon devices – save £99.60 and get the Amazon eero three-pack for £149.40, the Echo Dot (3rd Gen) is on sale for £39.99, the Echo Show 5 is on sale for £20 off, and much more.

  • Smart Home Security – the new compact indoor smart security camera Blink Mini is available for just £24.99, and save £60 on the Alexa-compatible Ring Spotlight Cam, now £139.

  • Amazon Music – For just £0.99, Prime members who haven’t tried Amazon Music Unlimited can get four months of the service with unlimited access to more than 60 million songs and a wide selection of popular podcasts.

  • Audible – Prime members can get three months of Audible for free if they subscribe before Oct. 28.

How to get the best deals on Prime Day?

Bagging the best deals on Prime Day and Black Friday is easy, if you know how. We understand that these major shopping events can feel seriously overwhelming, but there are some simple steps you can take to make your shopping experience go smoothly.

The first thing you should do is get prepared. It’s never too early to start making a plan, and lists are going to be your friend throughout this busy shopping season. What are the items you want to scoop up at low prices? Put a list together and then wishlist these products and set deal alerts within the Amazon app. This way you’ll be ready for when the prices drop.

The next tip is to familiarise yourself with how Amazon works, and how the site looks. There are going to be absolutely loads of deals every day, so you should look out for deal badges when navigating around the site. Prime Day deals will be marked in blue to help you differentiate them from regular deals.

The last thing to be aware of is how Prime Day is flexible, meaning that the start and end times are not set in stone. Don’t be afraid to jump on deals you see ahead of Prime Day, because these sort of events don’t always come with distinct deadlines. The lines are always blurred, so it’s best to grab what you can and get out.

If in doubt, you can always check back here for a rundown of the very best deals throughout the event. Good luck out there.
