Elon Musk shares render of Berlin Gigafactory, it’s very pretty
In case you didn’t know, there’s a massive Tesla factory currently being built on the outskirts of Berlin. And, judging from a render posted today by CEO Elon Musk, it’s going to look very nice.
Musk also shared some details about the factory, though it’s hard to say which parts are a joke and which are serious. These include a swimming pool and an “indoor/outdoor rave space” on the roof. Also, Musk confirmed that the solar panel-looking things on the roof are indeed solar panels.

Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg was announced in as part of the company’s plan to greatly increase its presence in Europe. It’s located in the municipality of Grünheide in Brandenburg, south-east of Berlin.
The new Gigafactory should become operational in 2021, initially focusing on Model Y production. Tesla says it expects the Gigafactory to produce 10,000 vehicles per week and employ up to 12,000 people in this first phase of operation.
The construction work was briefly in February after an environmentalist group raised warnings about the factory being a threat to local water supplies, among other issues. But Tesla was quickly given permission to continue building the factory by a German court.
The Berlin Gigafactory will be Tesla’s fourth, following the company’s Gigafactories in New York, Nevada, and Shanghai.
