Uber app will have ‘Get to the Polls’ button on Election Day
Uber can take you to the polls.
In the lead-up to the upcoming midterm elections, the ride-hailing app is helping passengers and drivers get registered to vote. Then they’re making sure registered voters have a way to get to the polls.
On Nov. 6 (that’s Election Day), Uber customers throughout the U.S. can use the most updated Uber app to find their polling place at the click of a button. Once you’ve found your voting spot, you can request a ride straight to the polls. Regular fees apply.
The “Get to the Polls” button will appear on the app on Election Day.
Uber is also offering free rides to the polls through the nonprofits #VoteTogether and Democracy Works.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi tweeted Thursday about voting and the Uber campaign to “drive the vote.”
Earlier this year, Uber competitor Lyft unveiled its own comparable voter registration and Election Day plans.
Getting out the vote is only a ride-hail away.
