Track your 2020 fitness goals
Exercising more, losing weight, and getting fit fall under the most popular New Year’s resolutions. You probably already have a new gym in mind, some healthy recipes pinned on Pinterest, or some sort of regimen planned, but do you know how you’re going to keep track of all your progress?
A smart scale can help you monitor your fitness goals and most of them have app integration that automatically puts all of your data into nice, neat charts.
What makes a smart scale different from a standard scale? Great question. In addition to showing you your weight smart scales gather different measurements like fat percentage, water percentage, body mass index (BMI), muscle mass and more — with some scales taking up to 13 measurements.
Prices vary depending on how advanced the scale is and how recognizable the brand is (which should come as no shock). We went ahead and found some of the best smart scales on sale right now, because you’re already putting in work to meet your goals; this should be the easy part.
Garmin is a trusted name in the industry with top-of-the-line fitness trackers, so you can assume its smart scale will deliver the same quality. The scale measures weight, BMI, body fat and water percentage, and skeletal muscle mass and bone mass. It automatically detects different users when they step on the scale and it sends individual data to the mobile app — up to 16 people can use the scale and get personalized measurements.
The Garmin Index retails for $149.99, but is on sale for $113.32, saving you $36.67.
The Fitbit Aria 2 recognizes up to eight users and measures weight, body fat percentage, lean mass, and BMI. It uses both WiFi and Bluetooth to easily sync up with your phone. If you already use a Fitbit watch or tracker, this scale integrates with the app super easily, keeping all of your fitness information in one convenient location.
Normally the Fitbit Aria 2 costs $129.95, but it’s on sale for $99.95, saving you $30.
Compatible with Apple Watch, the Withings Body+ measures weight, body fat, water percentage, and muscle and bone mass. Up to eight users can take advantage of the scale, and it automatically recognizes who is who. There’s also a pregnancy tracker, which is notable because some smart scales advise against using if you are pregnant.
The Withings Body+ scale is listed at $99.95, but is on sale for $79, saving you $20.95.
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, check out the Eufy smart scale. It measures 12 metrics including weight, BMI, water weight, lean body mass, bone mass, muscle mass, and visceral body fat. Up to 20 people can use the scale, but note that the app must be open nearby to get all of your measurements. Only your weight is displayed on the actual scale — the rest of the measurements appear in the app.
Usually the Eufy smart scale goes for $44.99, but it’s $10 off right now, dropping the price to $34.99.
