Craving some fresh, clean air?

The sad truth is that it’s not as easy to come by as you’d think. Air pollution abounds these days and unless you’re living somewhere completely remote, you’re probably breathing in some stuff you’d rather not.

You could sit and silently suffer through the smog, or you could educate yourself and actually do something about the less-than-stellar air around you. That’s what’s so great about the Atmotube 2.0 Portable Air Quality Monitor. Designed to raise awareness about air quality, it is meant to evaluate the air around you in real time.

Breathe into the Atmotube, which is about the size of a cigarette, and the corresponding app will send you information about the air’s volatile organic compounds (or VOCs), temperature, moisture, and even the carbon monoxide levels.

So what do you do once you have an air quality reading? You can invest in an air purifier, dehumidifier, or get your carbon monoxide fixed. And why would you pick up any of these if you didn’t have the low-down on the air around you.? Exactly.

Right now, this monitor is on sale for $89. Sure, it’s still not cheap but can you really put a price on clean, fresh air?
