Spotify, Viber, and other services are down for many users
A number of popular web services are experiencing downtime right now.
On Friday, Spotify’s official Spotify Status account on Twitter said that the company is investigating an issue, with no further details disclosed. Many users responded, with some claiming their app is crashing on open, even after a re-install.
Something’s out of tune. We’re currently investigating, and we’ll keep you posted here!

Viber’s official Twitter account posted a similar message Friday, claiming that “thousands of apps in the world including Viber are down on iOS and iPhone” due to a “technical problem.”
Thousands of apps in the world including @Viber are down on iOS / iPhone, due to a technical problem that will be fixed anytime soon.
‼️Do not uninstall and reinstall Viber it won’t fix the problem.‼️
Viber will be back anytime soon.
Thanks for your patience.

On Downdetector, a service that tracks issues with popular online games and services, a number of problem reports have been rising on Friday for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Tinder, Pinterest, Whatsapp, as well as game services PUBG and Call of Duty. (DownDetector is owned by Mashable’s parent company, J2 Global.)
Facebook’s own platform status page reports a partial outage, though that problem seems to be have been going on for five days.
While many of the above services work for me, I’ve been able to replicate the issue on Viber on iOS, which crashes right after launch.
We’ve asked some of these companies what’s up, and will update the post when we hear more.
