Save up to $550 with qualified activation
TL;DR: As of Aug. 20, for one day only, Best Buy is running a deal where you can save up to $550 on the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G with qualified activation on Verizon.
Want a brand new 5G-enabled smartphone? Gird your wallet: The first wave of big-name devices to support the fifth generation of mobile communication has not been cheap.
The latest additions to Samsung’s Galaxy series are the perfect example — the most basic configurations of this year’s Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note20 both start at a casual $999.99. (Don’t get us wrong: They’re two really gorgeous phones. But shelling out a grand for a new smartphone is decidedly not the vibe in this economy.)

For one day only, Best Buy is changing all of that: The electronics retailer is running an exclusive sale on Aug. 20 where you can get last year’s Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (the brand’s first 5G phone) for as low as $749.99 with qualified activation on Verizon. It usually retails for $1,299.99, so you’ll be saving up to 38%.
The deal works like this: If you activate a new line on Verizon when you buy the Galaxy S10 5G, you’ll get $550 off the phone and bring its price down to that $750. If you upgrade an existing line instead, you’ll take $500 off the price of the phone to pay only $799.99. (Click here for further details.)
Released in June 2019, the Galaxy S10 5G is “an absolute monster of a phone” with a 6.7-inch, edge-to-edge Dynamic AMOLED display, a long-lasting 4,500 mAh battery, and pro-grade cameras (including a 10-megapixel selfie camera with a depth sensor). It runs on the Android OS with a speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, and comes with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.
Other spec highlights include Samsung’s Wireless PowerShare feature, ultra-secure Ultrasonic Fingerprint ID technology, and a headphone jack (just in case you haven’t made the switch over to the Galaxy Beans yet).
