Save $30 on Amazon’s high-end smart speaker

SAVE $30: Typically $199.99, Amazon’s Echo Studio high-fidelity smart speaker is on sale for only $169.99 as of Jan. 12 — that’s a 15% savings.

Up until a few years ago, audio quality always took a backseat to the “smart” part of smart speakers. You didn’t buy such a device because you wanted to feel like you were lounging amongst the quaint woodsiness of Long Pond Studio while listening to folklore; you bought it because you wanted a friendly AI to check the weather and order more toilet paper for you.

For Amazon’s popular Echo lineup, that all changed with 2019’s introduction of the Echo Studio, an Alexa-enabled smart speaker geared toward audiophiles. Not only does it support Dolby Atmos for clear, immersive audio, but much like other high-end speakers made by brands like Sonos and Apple, it comes with a “3D sound” feature that automatically adjusts its output based on the acoustics of a room. V fancy.

Unsurprisingly, these serious audio upgrades mean Amazon’s put a premium on the Echo Studio: At $199.99, it’s one of the most expensive devices in the entire Echo family. (You’ll also need an Amazon Music HD subscription to take full advantage of its hi-def audio capabilities, which costs $12.99 a month for Prime members.) You could buy four of the all-new Echo Dots for the price of one Echo Studio, FWIW.

If you’re quick, though, you can take advantage of a limited-time deal Amazon is running that brings the Echo Studio down to just $169.99 — that’s a decent 15% savings and only $10 away from its all-time-low Black Friday pricing.

For those of us with a few smart home devices in our houses already, it might help to sweeten the deal knowing that the Echo Studio also comes with a built-in smart hub. Simply talk to Alexa to control nearby smart lightbulbs, thermostats, locks, plugs, and other Zigbee-compatible tech, or pair it with another Echo speaker to create a mini intercom system.

The blue button below will take you directly to the Echo Studio’s Amazon product page — grab one now while it’s still on sale.
