Samsung’s Q90R soundbar is on sale — save $800
TL;DR: Snag the Dolby Atmos-equipped Samsung Q90R Soundbar for just $899.99 when you order it through the PCMag Shop. It’s normally $1,699.99, so you’ll save $800.
What was once a lovely place to spend a rainy afternoon is now a wallet-draining, ad-saturated hellhole starring overpriced, overly salty snacks, long bathroom lines, and bad-mannered kids who definitely aren’t old enough to be in here. That’s right — we’re talking about the movie theater.
Mercifully, modern home entertainment systems have reached a degree of sophistication where living rooms can now be turned into personal cinemas, complete with booming surround sound and wall-sized TV screens. So long as you’ve got the right equipment, you can steer clear of your local multiplex and enjoy all your favorite flicks at home.
Since most TVs nowadays are too thin to support decent speakers, “the right equipment” typically includes a soundbar — an oblong, multi-speaker device that’s specifically designed to upgrade TVs’ audio. They’re available at various price points, with the theater-quality models costing the most — upwards of $1,500, in some cases.
Samsung’s flagship soundbar, the Q90R, is one such premium soundbar; it typically retails for a whopping $1,699.99. But you won’t pay that much if you order one through the PCMag Shop this weekend. (Editor’s note: PCMag is owned by Mashable’s publisher, Ziff Davis.)
Now through Sunday night, the Q90R soundbar is on sale for just $899.99 — a 47% savings. (That’s way less than what you’d pay on Amazon, where the Q90R is currently listed for $1,397.99.)
The soundbar itself includes 17 individual speakers — including four that fire upwards and two that fire sideways — and supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies. It’s also been equipped with Samsung’s “Adaptive Sound” feature, which automatically analyzes and adjusts the sound of your content to make sure you hear every word clearly.
That immersive audio experience is heightened when you connect the included subwoofer and pair of rear speakers, all of which are wireless to keep your setup clutter-free.
Visit the PCMag Shop to save $800 on the Samsung Q90R soundbar; you’ll pay just $899.99.
