Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is available for preorder
Just a few days before Samsung’s event on Aug. 5, the company has listed its Galaxy Z Flip 5G for preorder.
Revealed in a leaked video on July 10, then officially confirmed by Samsung on July 22, the 5G version of the company’s is now available to order from Samsung’s website. Prices start at $1,499.99 (a little more expensive than the standard model at $1,380), and you can pick between two new colours of Mystic Bronze or Mystic Gray, shipping from Aug. 7.
Samsung’s original version of its flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip, was launched in February with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset, and the main difference between that and the 5G version is that it comes complete with the new Snapdragon 856 Plus 5G chipset, which enables super-fast 5G speeds on the device. There’s plenty more detail about the 5G version and its specs in this article from Mashable’s Brenda Stolyar.
Here’s the trailer Samsung launched for the phone, which gives you a 19-second look:
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G will officially go on sale starting Aug. 7, two days after Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event, which is happening online on August 5 at 10 a.m. ET. Samsung’s somewhat leaked Galaxy Note 20 lineup is expected to be announced, and possibly the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
For more Samsung leaks and spec reveals ahead of the event, Mashable’s tech team has been been all over it.
