TL;DR: Start your morning off better with the Philips wake-up light (HF3520) on sale for $102, saving you $35.97.

I don’t know about you, but getting out of bed in the morning is my least favorite part of the day — especially during the winter when it’s dark and cold. I would much rather be lying in bed until noon. But alas, we have jobs and other things that require us to get up before the sun and that’s just the way life is.

If you’ve got to wake up early, you might as well make it a little easier on yourself. The Philips wake-up light is an alarm clock that gradually brightens to simulate the sunrise, meaning you wake up more naturally and less grumpily.

A good sunrise alarm clock can be pretty pricey, but luckily the Philips wake-up (HF3520) is on sale for $102 at Walmart — down from its list price of $137.97.

So how exactly does a wake-up alarm work? You set it for the time you want to get up and the sunrise simulation starts 30 minutes before that time to ease you awake like the actual sunrise would. You have the choice between five sounds to alert you awake.

There’s also a sunset mode that does the reverse of the sunrise function. A light slowly dims and fades out for a natural progression toward sleep. Using the Philips wake-up light is supposed to improve your sleep, energy, and overall well-being. You’ll wake up feeling more refreshed and less like mornings are the devil incarnate.

We can’t guarantee that you’ll wake up with a smile on your face, but you will have an easier time dragging yourself out of bed with the Philips wake-up alarm. Grab it from Walmart for $102. (That’s $2 cheaper than you’ll find it at Amazon, BTW.)
