MacBook Airs and Pros are on sale for their lowest prices ever on Amazon
TL;DR: Apple’s 2019 MacBook Airs and Pros are on sale for up to $300 off on Amazon.
“Mac versus PC” is a debate as old as time, but for most current college students, choosing between the two is a no-brainer: Seven out of 10 said they prefer Macs over PCs in a recent survey, citing Apple’s laptops’ ease of use, clean design, reliability, durability, and ability to synchronize with other devices as the reasons for their penchant.
The minority of college students who wind up buying a PC do so mainly for the price, the same survey found. That’s fair — PCs tend to be way cheaper than Macs, and the latter usually never go on sale.
But the keyword there is “usually.” It just so happens that Amazon just slashed the prices of Apple’s newest MacBook Air and Pro models, bringing them down to their lowest prices ever on its site. (The latest MacBook isn’t getting the same markdown treatment, but you can grab the recently discontinued 12-inch model on sale for an all-time-high discount.)
These deals come on the heels of Amazon’s massive sale on the iMac Pro, which was still live the last time we checked — so if you need a new computer for school, there’s really no better time to buy.
Apple’s 2019 MacBook Pros have lightning-fast Intel processors and improved (read: non-“butterfly”) keyboards. Choose from the following variants:
-
13-inch MacBook Pro (Touch Bar, 1.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB) in silver or space gray — $1,199 (down $100 from $1,299)
-
13-inch MacBook Pro (2.4GHz quad-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 256GB) in silver or space gray — $1,599 (down $200 from $1,799)
-
13-inch MacBook Pro (2.4GHz quad-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, 512GB) in silver or space gray — $1,799 (down $200 from $1,999)
-
15-inch MacBook Pro (2.6GHz 6-core 9th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 256GB) in silver or space gray — $2,099 (down $300 from $2,399)
-
15-inch MacBook Pro (2.3GHz 8-core 9th-generation Intel Core i9 processor, 512GB) in silver or space gray — $2,499 (down $300 from $2,799)
The new 256GB MacBook Air has been on sale since last week, and now the 128GB model is joining the party. Super sleek at just 15.6mm thin, it comes with an elegant 13.3-inch Retina display, the powerful dual-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Touch ID, and built-in stereo speakers.
Order yours in gold or space gray for just $999.99 — $100 off its suggested retail price of $1,099.
The 12-inch MacBook isn’t the newest (or best) model on the market, but it’ll still get the job done with 10 hours of battery life and an extremely portable design. Take your pick from the following variants:
