MacBooks are a big deal in our office — everyone has one. You could say we’re a little obsessed. (Read our coverage about the new MacBook Air here.) So anytime there’s a chance to save on MacBooks, you can be sure we’re going to talk about it. This is one of those times.

The proximity to Black Friday certainly helps, but what really gets Apple deals going are new product announcements. With the debut of the new MacBook Air, now is the perfect time to save on a MacBook if you’re looking to upgrade. And Amazon is here to deliver.

You can get a refurbished mid-2017 MacBook on Amazon for $999.99, which is $400 off the original price of $1,399.99. (And yes, this includes the coveted rose gold model.)

Sporting an Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM, the speeds will deliver reliable performance across the board for most of your needs. The visual quality will also live up to Apple’s standards thanks to the 12-inch Retina display. That 512GB of flash storage is great too, giving speeds a little extra punch and making the MacBook just a bit lighter.

But don’t let the refurbished tag turn you off from this MacBook deal. Amazon’s standards when it comes to refurbished products is always high, and you can be sure that’s doubly so with Apple products. Given how thorough Amazon’s refurbishment team can be, it’ll basically feel like getting a brand new MacBook.
