Keep calm and carry on in 2020 with these Classic Blue-channeling phone cases

In early December, Pantone announced its color of the year. For those of you who haven’t heard the news, it’s Classic Blue.

Let’s just say people had some thoughts about it.

It’s important to note this blue is not like a regular blue. It’s a cool blue. In the year 2020, it’s here to bring you serenity, confidence, and an overall sense of stability. Basically, everything my 2019 was missing.

While I’d love to build myself a Classic Blue bubble suit and use it to literally roll myself through next year, I unfortunately do not have that kind of time. And I’m sure you don’t either.

But there are other ways to inject some of that chill color into our lives. Like, perhaps, starting with a new phone case—since we literally carry our phones with us everywhere.

To help you get going on your journey to a peaceful 2020, we’ve compiled a list of some phone cases that will bring you those similar ~Classic Blue~ vibes. Sure, they’re not exactly the same color, but these come pretty damn close.

iPhone 11

There are no mistakes, just happy accidents.

Some say nature is good for the soul. And while I truly can’t relate, I will admit that Casetify’s Forest Watercolor case for the iPhone 11 is pretty relaxing to look at. Sure, it only has hints of Classic Blue, but there’s no denying the mix of blues, violets, and greens does bring you a sense of zen.

And we can’t look at happy lil’ trees without giving a proper shoutout to our king, Bob Ross, who would most certainly approve of this purchase.

iPhone 11 Pro

Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.

Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.

I’m horrible at identifying nearly every type of flower, but I do know having them around sometimes makes things a little better.

With the Sonix Indigo case for the iPhone 11 Pro, you’ll not only have some cute flowers to brighten your days but you also don’t have to worry about accidentally killing them.

Not at all speaking from experience here…ha.

iPhone XS

Sometimes, less is more.

Sometimes, less is more.

If simplicity is more your thing, you can’t go wrong with Apple’s classic silicone case in Blue Horizon for the iPhone XS. It’s a nice, solid blue color that also feels super soft and lightweight. I guarantee you’ll feel calmer the minute you lay eyes on it.

It’s also quite possibly the closest we’ve gotten to matching that Classic Blue color exactly…oops.

iPhone XR

Two-tone = double the serenity.

Two-tone = double the serenity.

Ooooh, if you’re feelin’ super festive, this Kulor case for the iPhone XR has some two-tone action going on. Maybe that’ll bring you double the serenity.

The swanky case is made of top-grain leather and is hand-wrapped to ensure durability—sort of like the color of the year. How’s that for staying on theme?

Pixel 3a

Ahhh, calm and organized in 2020.

Ahhh, calm and organized in 2020.

If you’re tired of carrying your phone and your wallet, the folio case is always the way to go. Specifically the Feitenn Wallet Case for the Google Pixel 3a.

Just flip this baby open and you’ve got access to all your cards on one side and your phone on the other. Not only are you going to be super calm, but you’ll also be extra organized in the new year.

Pixel 4

A little darker, but still part of that blue fam.

A little darker, but still part of that blue fam.

For those who want to go a bit darker than classic blue, this dual-layer case for the Pixel 4 by Nimbus9 will do the trick. While it’s technically midnight blue, there’s no denying that it’s pretty calming to look at. It’ll also make your Pixel look a lot sleeker than it already does.

Galaxy S10+

All blue, everywhere.

All blue, everywhere.

If you already have the blue Galaxy S10+, you’re basically one step ahead. Slap on this Spigen Ultra Hybrid case with a matching blue border, and you’ve got every inch of the phone covered. Now, your phone is ready to provide you with sweet, sweet serenity.

Of course, these are only a few of the options out there. And, with 2020 only a few weeks away, we have no doubt more Pantone-inspired options will crop up over the next few months.

Fair warning, though —after swapping out your phone case, you’ll probably start contemplating whether to repaint your house a Classic Blue or even purchase some new furniture. Go ahead. It’s all about that self-care in 2020.

But for those of you who still aren’t convinced of this whole, Pantone Color of the Year thing, I leave you with this timeless monologue. Just be sure to replace cerulean with Classic Blue.
