iRobot’s Braava Jet 240 robot mop is on sale for $30 off
Robot vacuums are beloved for their ability to make life easier, but owning one comes with one downside: Once you don’t have to do your own vacuuming, having to physically do any other chore seems like way too much to ask.
Never fear, iRobot is here: The pioneers of robot vacuums were also one of the first to bring robot mops to the world (and are one of the only brands to nail the robot mop so far). The Braava Jet 240 is iRobot’s best-selling mop, and it’s on sale for $169 at Walmart. (That’s $30 cheaper than iRobot’s site.)
Not all messes can be tackled with a dry vacuum (nor can everything be cleaned with a dry Swiffer — *cough, cough*). For spills or wet stains, mud, or just a weekly polishing, the Braava Jet’s precision jet spray and vibrating cleaning can ensure your tile, laminate, or hardwood floors are free from sticky messes. Just attach a cleaning pad and choose from wet mopping, damp sweeping, or dry sweeping mode via buttons or the iRobot app.
Equipped with the same iAdapt Navigation as its Roomba siblings, the Braava Jet 240 maneuvers around corners, furniture, and drop-offs to cover hard-to-reach places (like behind the toilet) and avoid cleaning the same spot over and over again. (Mashable’s review claims that the Braava Jet’s cleaning is impressively detailed and does more than a meh gloss-over.) The spray won’t harm carpet or furniture, but if you’re really worried, built-in Virtual Wall Mode can keep it from entering chosen areas.
Unlike Roombas, the Braava Jet won’t return to its dock to charge. It has a rechargeable battery, but you’ll have to manually replace it.
Regularly $199 and full price on iRobot’s site, you can save $30 and get it for $169 with free 2-day delivery at Walmart.
