Elon Musk says to look for the Tesla pickup truck reveal in November
Elon Musk is doing that thing again where he casually drops news that people care about into random Twitter replies.
It happened on Saturday, when a Twitter user asked the Tesla CEO for an update on when the company will reveal its pickup truck. Musk had previously hinted at a summer 2019 reveal for the so-called “Cyberpunk Truck” back in June, but that obviously didn’t happen.
Now, expect a first look at Tesla’s pickup truck in November “most likely.”
Plans for a summer reveal were in the works as recently as June’s annual shareholder meeting. That’s where the so-called Cyberpunk Truck made its teasing debut — just an indistinct closeup of what appears to be LED running lights — along with the promise of a summer unveiling.
During the same presentation, Musk said that Tesla’s Semi truck should arrive by the end of 2020, and that the Model Y — Tesla’s compact SUV — will also be widely available by the end of that year.
He had much less to say about the pickup, noting only that it will be like “something that came out of a sci-fi movie.”
