Elon Musk rides shotgun as Jay Leno test drives Tesla’s Cybertruck
In this week’s episode of Jay Leno’s Garage on CNBC, the former talkshow host chatted with Musk about his electric car company and snagged the opportunity to drive the only Cybertruck that currently exists.
The truck was initially revealed in November of last year and is supposed to arrive by the end of 2021. By that time, Musk promised it’ll be 5 percent smaller all around as compared to the lumbering EV it is now. As you can see in the above clip, Leno can barely fit the truck in his lane.
Cybertruck production hasn’t started yet and Tesla is still working to secure a location for a new U.S. factory. So, for now, this is the only Tesla pickup around.
Leno also tested out the Cybertruck in one of Musk’s tunnels underneath Hawthorne, California in the Los Angeles area. The mile-long tunnel is part of Musk’s other company, The Boring Company, which is working on an underground transportation network.
The full episode with Musk and other guests is available now online.
