SAVE $78: As of Oct. 9, you can bundle a Google Nest Thermostat E and a Nest Temperature Sensor at Best Buy for just $129.99 (a $208 value).

Many parts of the country have already seen their first frost (or will very soon), which can only mean one thing: Winter is coming. (RIP, socially distant picnic season — we hardly knew ye.)

Too soon? Maybe. But if you’re planning on blasting the heat in the coming months, you’re definitely not going to want to miss this deal: You can bundle a Google Nest Thermostat E ($169) with a Nest Temperature Sensor ($39) at Best Buy for just $129.99 altogether — a savings of 38%, or $78.01.

As far as we can tell, this is one of the best deals ever offered on the thermostat since its release. Data on the Amazon price-tracking site camelcamelcamel shows the device itself (without the sensor) has only been on sale there once before, on Dec. 4 of last year — two days after Cyber Monday — and for $139. (That same price is now live on Amazon ahead of the retailer’s Prime Day savings event on Oct. 13 and 14, FWIW, so if Best Buy’s inventory sells out, head there.)

The only time we’ve seen a better price on the thermostat was in mid-September when Home Depot had it on sale for just $119, or 20% off — a discount that’s no longer live, unfortunately.

As a refresher, the Nest Thermostat E (which stands for “Everyone” and “Earth”) is a wall-mounted, programmable smart thermostat that Google introduced as a budget-friendly alternative to its original Nest Learning Thermostat in Aug. 2017. (It’s actually quite similar to that fancier model, capable of saving you just as much energy when its Eco Mode is enabled, only it’s made of white polycarbonate instead of metal and lacks a high-res screen.) It’s compatible with Amazon Echo and Google Home devices in addition to the Nest app, and if you connect it to one of those Nest Temperature Sensors in another room, you can set a schedule and prioritize certain spaces for even greater control over your home’s climate.

Hurry on over to Best Buy to take advantage of its deal on the Nest Thermostat E and Temperature Sensor bundle, and make it snappy — as one of the store’s Deals of the Day, it’s only live through midnight tonight.
