“TVs” and “Black Friday” go together like cats and broken tree ornaments.

But purchasing a TV on Black Friday isn’t as much of a no-brainer as you think. Actually, BestBlackFriday.com suggests that you wait until that ~big football game~ to cop a new TV. Not only are retailers going after sports fans who decided at the last-minute that they need a 75-inch TV, but January is typically when TV brands launch their new models and last year’s models go on sale.

Black Friday TV deals are obviously still killer, with TVs marked down to as much as 50% off. But keep an eye on model numbers: Some brands will create special TV models specifically for Black Friday (called derivatives). These models, which are sold in very limited quantities, are nearly identical to the “real” version of a TV but lack a few key features in order to drain the price for Black Friday shoppers. Before swooning over a wickedly cheap price, be sure to Google the exact model number to see if you can find reviews.

As expected, Walmart and Best Buy have many of the same TV models on sale for the same prices (though Walmart will randomly take an extra $1 or $2 off their prices). However, an easy deciding factor comes in the form of Walmart’s free two-day or free freight delivery on most TVs compared to Best Buy’s $20 shipping. On the other hand, Fire TV edition models from Insignia and Toshiba will land you a free Echo Dot at Best Buy.

If you’re absolutely going for the cheapest TV you can find, Walmart will have the cheapest 50-inch 4K TV at $148. (It’s by onn., a line created by Walmart.) Reviews make it clear that you’re really getting what you pay with these, but for households on a tight budget, they’re a great buy.

Here are some TV deals that Best Buy hyped in its Black Friday ad that in most cases, Walmart has matched:
