TL;DR: Amazon Prime Student members can save 40% on select Echo devices now through September 30 or while supplies last.

Visit any college campus across the country and you’re bound to find a fair number of bizarre superstitions. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for instance, students rub the bronze foot of a statue of Abe Lincoln for good luck before finals. And if you see an albino squirrel on the day of an exam while strolling through the University of Texas at Austin, you can count on acing said exam.

But what if you could sway your chances of personal success just by using a particular smart home device? According to a brand new survey of working professionals’ tech habits conducted by Resume Lab, a career resource site, more than a third of people who self-identify as successful own an Amazon Alexa device (compared to just over 20 percent who use a Google Home device).

Now, is their Alexa device the sole reason why those people are successful? Probably not. (In fact, definitely not.) But hey — when you’re a college student pursuing a tough degree in a competitive campus environment while juggling all sorts of extracurriculars, you need all the help you can get; at the very least, a voice-controlled virtual assistant can make your life easier with hands-free weather forecasts, grocery lists, alarms, calendar updates, and more.

Want to take an Alexa device for a spin? You’re in luck: Now through September 30 or while supplies last, any college student with an Amazon Prime Student account can save 40% on select Amazon Echo devices — take your pick from the second-generation Echo Plus, the Echo Show 5, the Echo Spot, and the third-generation Echo Dot. (Note: the Echo Dot isn’t technically a part of the Prime Student sale, but it happens to be 40% off right now, too, so we’re including it just for kicks.) Not a Prime Student member? Sign up here using your .edu email address.

Here’s a quick rundown of each device:

The second-gen Echo Plus is an Alexa-enabled smart speaker featuring a built-in smart hub and dynamic 360-degree sound powered by premium Dolby technology. Choose from three different colors: charcoal, heather gray, and sandstone.

The Echo Plus retails for $149.99, but Prime Student members can order one today for just $89.99 — the cheapest we’ve ever seen it — by entering the code PLUS40 at checkout.

Available in charcoal and sandstone, the all-new Echo Show 5 is a smart speaker that accompanies its audio skills with visuals on a 5.5-inch touchscreen display. The device makes it easy to get news, sports, weather, and traffic updates at a glance — plus, it’s got a front-facing camera so you can use it for video calling and messaging to stay in touch with your family and friends back home.

The Echo Show 5 is usually listed at $89.99, but Prime Student members can snag one for just $53.99 — its lowest price in Amazon history — by applying the code SHOWFIVE40 during checkout.

The Echo Spot is a smart alarm and speaker with a camera and a tiny 2.5-inch screen — a miniature version of the Echo Show, basically — that comes in black and white.

You’d typically shell out $129.99 for an Echo Spot, but you’ll pay an all-time-low $77.99 right now so long as you’re a Prime Student member *and* you remember to enter the code SPOT40 at checkout.

As we mentioned earlier, the third-gen Echo Dot smart speaker is currently 40% off even thought it’s not officially a part of Amazon’s Echo device sale for Prime Student members. We don’t know how long that discount will last, so hurry on over to Amazon today to order one for just $29.99 (down from $49.99) — no coupon code or membership required.
