How to watch the 2022 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Published

on

The 2022 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is upon us, once again providing dog lovers the opportunity to coo at their television screens and ask the eternal, oft-repeated question: Who’s a good boy?

This year the number of dog breeds eligible for the Westminster Dog Show has grown to 211, with the American Kennel Club officially recognising two new breeds. The Hungarian farm dog Mudi will join the Herding group, while the small Russian Toy is being added to the Toy Group.

Don’t just take my word for it though. All four days of the Dog Show will be broadcast and livestreamed for viewers at home, so you can admire all the good boys and girls from the comfort of your home. You won’t be able to pet them, of course, but you probably wouldn’t be allowed to even if you bought yourself a ticket and visited Tarrytown, NY in person.

Here’s how to watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.

How to watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in the U.S.

If you’re wanting to watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in the U.S., you have two options available. Namely, you can choose between FOX Deportes’ Spanish-language broadcast, or opt for English-language commentary on FOX, FS1, FS2, and westminsterkennelclub.org.

For those who understand both languages and want to be up-to-date on all the canine action, you’ll want to go with the English-language broadcast. FOX Deportes will be far less comprehensive, only beginning coverage on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. EDT, and some of it will be delayed.

That isn’t to say parts of the English-language broadcast won’t also be delayed. Though the Masters Agility Championship takes place entirely on Saturday, FOX won’t broadcast the finals until Sunday. However, the English-language coverage will generally be quicker and more complete than its Spanish-language counterpart, which won’t broadcast the Masters Agility Championship at all.
