Two arrested over house fire that killed four children in Staffordshire | UK News

Two people have been arrested in connection with a house fire that killed four children in Staffordshire, police have said.

A 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man are being held on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.

It follows an investigation into the probable cause of the fire which tore through the house in the Highfields area of Stafford on Tuesday.

The pair were arrested at around 1:30pm and are now in custody.

Riley Holt, eight, Keegan Unitt, six, Olly Unitt, three, and Tilly Rose Unitt, four, died after the blaze in Sycamore Lane, Highfields, Stafford, on Tuesday.

Their mother Natalie Unitt and her partner Chris Moulton were treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries along with a fifth child.

A man was reportedly seen jumping from a window of the house while clutching a baby.
