Top footballers praise young goalkeeper who conceded 11 goals in debut match



A young goalkeeper who conceded 11 goals in his debut match has received praise from a host of top footballers.

Allan Ogle shared a video of his nine-year-old son Harrison making a number of saves after the youngster’s team lost 11-0.

Mr Ogle from Chesterfield wrote: “He’s overcome premature birth, swine flu, pneumonia and has educational challenges.

“Emotional for me to see my boy Harrison’s debut in goal on Sunday for his new team.

“Lost 11-0 (Filmed) his saves to cheer him up.”

The video, which has been viewed more than a million times on Twitter, prompted messages of support to pour in from the world of football

Former England goalkeepers David Seaman and Ray Clemence along with current Three Lions player Nick Pope were among those to praise Harrison.

Ex-Everton and Wales keeper Neville Southall and former Scotland player Bryan Gunn also voiced support for the youngster.

Mr Ogle later said he was “overwhelmed” by the messages and Harrison was on “cloud nine”.
