Teenager arrested over murder of 14-year-old Jaden Moodie

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering teenager Jaden Moodie who was stabbed after being knocked off a moped in east London.

Police believe the youngster was the victim of a targeted attack in Leyton.

Detectives think there were five males in a black car that hit Jaden in Bickley Road on 8 January.

Three of them then got out and stabbed Jaden before returning to the vehicle and driving off.

The black Mercedes B class was later found in the Carlisle Road area the next day.

Police said the teen suspect was detained at an address in Wembley and has been taken to a central London police station for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Soole, who is leading the investigation, said: “Although one man has been arrested in connection with this murder, we remain fully focused on locating and arresting others connected to this deadly attack.

“Our efforts to bring them to justice continues; a number of active enquires are in hand.

“I would urge anyone with any information about this crime to contact us without delay.”

He added: “The Mercedes recovered was found in Carlisle Road. Did you see suspicious black vehicle in the area on the evening of Tuesday, 8 January into the morning of Wednesday, 9 January? We need to hear from you if you did.”
