The tour manager of JLS star Oritse Williams has told a jury how he tried to start a threesome to alleviate “cringey” sex as the singer allegedly raped a fan in a hotel room.

Describing the encounter, Jamien Nagadhana, 32, said he touched the woman in an intimate area for up to six seconds until she looked at him.

“She didn’t really respond,” he said. “I realised she was not being turned on and I have gone back to my bed.”

The comments were heard on the sixth day in the trial over the alleged incident, which it is claimed took place in December 2016 following Williams’ nightclub concert.

Williams, 32, has denied the charge of rape against him, while Nagadhana has also denied the charges of sexual assault and assault by penetration.

Prosecutors detailed to the jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court last week how the alleged victim and her two friends had felt “a lot more affected by alcohol than they felt was normal” on the night of the incident, with one of the women being forced to take a taxi home after she “blacked out”.

The alleged victim says she and her remaining friend then went back to the hotel with Williams and Nagadhana, who are childhood friends.

She maintains that she made clear to Williams that she did not want to have sex, but was pushed onto the bed, making her feel “quite scared” and “worthless”.

Williams’ account was read to the court on Monday, which described Nagadhana as being “under the covers” in his own bed when the alleged victim knocked on the door and said she wanted to spend the night.

Nagadhana said on Tuesday that he believed the woman had seen him in his bed as she began “getting together” with Williams.

They were “kissing, hands around each other,” he said.

Nagadhana said he was then prompted to “try and initiate a threesome” as he believed the woman was “probably not” enjoying the ongoing sexual encounter with Williams.

However, the 32-year-old maintains this was not due to a lack of consent, but was in fact over Williams’ “oafish” moves.

He said: “I think the sex was cringey and awkward. It wasn’t smooth – I know him, he is a bit oafish”.

After touching the woman intimately, a move he claims was not rejected, Nagadhana said he returned to bed as Williams and the fan continued to have sex.

When questioned in court, Nagadhana said he thought it “wouldn’t be inappropriate” to get involved in the act due to the “vibes we had earlier”.

He added: “They [the alleged victim and her friends] were handsy and cosy and touchy with me as well”.

The trial continues.
