Man arrested over Solihull murder of daughter and mother



A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a daughter and mother, West Midlands Police said.

The man was arrested in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham on suspicion of murdering Raneem Oudeh, 22, and her mother Khaola Saleem, 49.

The women were fatally stabbed in Northdown Road, Solihull in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.

Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to thank the community for their support over the last few days, the response to our appeals has been excellent and tonight resulted in this arrest.”

A statement from West Midlands Police confirmed: “Police searching for the suspect in the double murder in Solihull have arrested a man.”

They added: “Officers have been working tirelessly around the clock and have acted swiftly on any information that has come in over the last few days.”
