Man, 21, in hospital after corrosive substance is thrown in his face in Stoke Newington



A 21-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he had a corrosive substance thrown over his face in north-east London.

Scotland Yard said the man also sustained cuts to his hands, believed to have been caused by a knife.

Officers were called to Stoke Newington High Street by the London Ambulance Service just before 2.35am on Thursday.

The London Fire Brigade was also at the scene.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said said: “The man has been taken to an east London hospital. His injuries are not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
