London: Six arrested after fight involving ‘group of males armed with knives’ | UK News



Six people have been arrested after police were called to reports of a fight involving a group of males armed with knives in southeast London.

Police, including armed officers, were called to the vicinity of Duke of Wellington Avenue in Woolwich at around 3.45pm on Saturday.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital suffering from a knife injury to his arm.

A second man in his 20s suffered minor injuries.

The group of six were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and they remain in police custody.

A section 60 has been put in place for the areas of Woolwich Common and Riverside, Charlton, Glyndon and Peninsula until 7am on Sunday.
