Family, friends and colleagues of royal bride Lady Gabriella Windsor and groom Thomas Kingston have begun arriving for their wedding.

Guests were ferried in vintage buses to the precincts of Windsor Castle and then walked down the hill to take their seats in St George’s Chapel for the ceremony.

Prince Harry, who welcomed a baby boy with his wife Meghan Markle earlier this month, arrived with Lady Frederick Windsor.

Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews were also among those arriving and another famous face was Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

The society event was a parade of hats, dresses and men in morning suits as everyone waited for the ceremony to begin at noon, conducted by Dean of Windsor the Right Rev David Conner.

It is the third royal wedding in the 15th-century venue in less than a year after the star-studded nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last May and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October.

Lady Gabriella Windsor, 38, is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and is 52nd in line to the succession of the British throne.

Her engagement to Bristol University graduate Mr Kingston was announced by Buckingham Palace in September 2018 after becoming engaged on the Isle of Sark.

The wedding will be attended by members of the Royal Family, and the Queen will be the guest of honour as a first cousin once removed of the bride.

Prince William appears unlikely to be able to attend as the wedding clashes with his duties at FA Cup final.

Other royal guests will include Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick Windsor and his actress wife Sophie Winkleman, along with their daughters Isabelle and Maud.

In the same fashion as Harry and Meghan, the newlyweds will host their afternoon reception at Frogmore House.

The venue has a “personal resonance” for the couple since Lady Gabriella’s grandparents, the late Duke and Duchess of Kent, are buried at Frogmore.

However unlike the past two royal weddings, there will be no reception hosted by the Queen inside Windsor Castle.

Like the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Eugenie, Lady Gabriella, who is also a director of Branding Latin America, is understood to have chosen a British designer to make her wedding dress.

While the designer of choice has not been confirmed, she has worn designs by English fashion designer Giles Deacon on several occasions, including the 2006 British Fashion Awards.

Her husband-to-be has held several high-powered jobs in finance, and in 2003, he moved to Baghdad where he worked to procure the release of hostages.

He has reportedly dated Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton and attended her wedding to James Matthews with Lady Gabriella in 2017.
