Killer with ‘born to raise hell’ tattoo back in custody

A convicted killer with a “born to raise hell” tattoo on his neck has been taken back into custody after he absconded from prison.

John Potter, 52, was arrested in the market town of Ashbourne on Thursday, said police.

Potter is serving a life sentence for murder at HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire after being jailed in 2008 for reportedly stabbing to death his flatmate during a drinking session.

Police appealed for information to track him down after he absconded on Tuesday, saying Potter had several distinctive tattoos, including a swallow, a devil and a panther on his right hand.
