Danny Drinkwater: Chelsea player banned from roads for 20 months after admitting drink-driving | UK News

Chelsea player Danny Drinkwater has been banned from the roads for 20 months after admitting drink-driving.

The midfielder, 29, was found to be two and a half times the legal alcohol limit when he crashed his £125,000 Range Rover into a wall in Cheshire in April.

He gave a reading of 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, with the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.

The three-cap England international, who won the 2016 Premier League title with Leicester, must carry out 70 hours’ community service.
