The Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 is waterproof and $30 off at Amazon
With the Jonas Brothers, Tyler the Creator, Lana Del Rey, and more all set to release music this summer (plus the BTS and Halsey song that will never die) you’re gonna want (need) a speaker that can be brought with you everywhere.
Ultimate Ears is the brand to buy when it comes to durability and portability, immediately recognizable by the sleek cylindrical shape that offers 360-degree sound. You were probably already considering buying one, so here’s your sign: The Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 is on sale for $30 off at Amazon, making it just $169.99. With Prime shipping. Oh yeah.
Whether your destination is the pool at your hotel, someone’s backyard, or in your bedroom for jams before work, the UE Megaboom 3 promises to deliver stereophonic audio in all directions and surprisingly deep bass for a speaker of its size. A 100-foot Bluetooth range and the ability to daisy chain off of other UE speakers makes it easy to stretch your coverage even further.
A ridiculous IP67 waterproof rating also means it can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes.
Warning: Watching this promo video will have you planning an an impromptu weekend trip to the beach.
Amazon customer Jonathan Lee writes:
“I wanted the most ultimate portable Bluetooth speaker and I believe this is it. I compared it with jbl’s charge 3. The mega boom seems to have crisper highs and clear mids at full volume where as the charge 3 distorts somewhat at full volume especially with dynamic music playing. The charge 3 takes the cake for bass due to its duel passive radiators but over all the mega boom dose put out a deep rich sound and I love it. Plus the mega boom is so sleek”
Ultimate Ears could manage to put a bit of that focus on battery life — the listing claims it’s 20 or more hours, but a lot of users seem to only get four or five. Luckily, music can still play while the speaker is charging.
Regularly $199.99, you can save $30 and get the speaker in Night Black for $169.99 with free two-day shipping.
