The latest 9.7-inch iPad is up to $100 off at Walmart right now
“Get an iPad for under $300!” sounds like a sketchy ad from those buying and selling sites that play on daytime television.
But this time, it’s legit: Walmart’s sale on the latest 9.7-inch iPad puts the 128 GB model at $329 ($100 off) and the 32 GB model at just $249.99 ($80 off). Both models also come with free two-day shipping.
(If you’re not an Apple person, Amazon is having a huge sale on Fire tablets for Mother’s Day. This week is a good week to a buy a tablet.)
Simply referred to as “iPad,” this mid-2018 iPad was aimed toward education and purposefully priced as Apple’s most affordable iPad yet. But in terms of specs, you’re actually getting way more than what you’re paying for: It’s significantly more powerful than the older models (but still manages a 10-hour battery life), has a crisp 2,048 x 1,536 Retina display, and is the first non-Pro model to work with the Apple Pencil.
The cameras aren’t impressive at all, but you shouldn’t be taking mirror selfies with an iPad anyway.
Mashable’s Ray Wong writes about using the Apple Pencil on this iPad:
“Apple cut no corners bringing Apple Pencil to its cheaper iPad. It works exactly the same on the new iPad as it does on the iPad Pro, and it’s every bit as responsive, precise, and pressure-sensitive.
I’ve tried many styluses on iPad before, and none of them compare to the Apple Pencil. It’s as if the digital ink is really coming right out of the Apple Pencil’s tip when you press it against the new iPad’s screen and start sliding it across the surface.”
Regularly $329.99 and $429.99, you can get the 32 GB WiFi model for $249 and the 128 GB WiFi model for $329 with free two-day shipping.
