Get the *ultra* nice 10-in-1 Instant Pot Ultra on sale for $30 off at Amazon
Hello, beautiful: The 6-quart Instant Pot Ultra is on sale for $30 off at Amazon, dropping it down to just $119.99 — the price that it was for Prime Day 2018. Random, but we’ll take it.
The 10-in-1 Ultra is truly ultra fancy (we’re just going to pretend like that’s the reason for its name). Working as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, egg cooker, steamer, warmer, sauté pan, yogurt maker, sterilizer, and cake maker, it can essentially replace 10 appliances in your kitchen, offering some serious downsizing opportunities — plus the street cred that comes with having one of the nicest Instant Pots.
Aside from appliance functions, the Ultra is also the only Instant Pot equipped with an “Ultra” button for personalized programming, as well as a a steam release reset button for safety, and more precise cooking times with the altitude adjustment and cooking indicator features.
The biggest news surrounding the Ultra lately is the fact that it’s recently been one-upped — on paper, that is. Originally expected to come out in August 2018, Instant Pot finally released their newest model, the Instant Pot Max, at the end of November. Though the Max was highly awaited by the fandom, the consensus actually seems to be that the new features and new spaceship look just aren’t worth the money.
Here’s an excerpt from CNET’s review:
“The bright sides are few and far between when you consider all that the Max promised and failed to do, especially when you consider its $200 price. The Max took longer to cook basic foods. It’s missing some helpful preset cooking modes. And two features that could have been standouts — the sous vide and canning functions — weren’t as reliable as we needed them to be. Rather than the Max, you’d be better off buying a cheaper, older Instant Pot model.”
Unless you’re really passionate about touch screens or sous vide, just opt for the Ultra and save your money. Regularly $149.99, you can save $30 and grab the Ultra for $119.99.
