7 of the best Wi-Fi extenders for increasing your wireless range
There is a power status indicator and an internet status indicator on the front of the device, so you can easily see if your connection is ready to go. On the back of the unit are four gigabit Ethernet ports, a Reset button, a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button, a Power button, and a USB port. While having a USB port is convenient for file sharing, it’s only a USB 2.0, rather than the faster USB 3.0.
Setup is a breeze and takes just minutes with the mobile app, or by using the WPS button. It offers a choice of WEP, WPA, WPA2, or WPS secure encryption. There’s even MAC address filtering, and guest-zone features.
Amazon user writes:
“I use this to get signal to all corners of my house. My three story home has a hard time getting good coverage for Wifi. This extends the signal of my wireless 802.11N signal to my basement. Just as advertised my speed is about 50% of max speed but I’m not downloading large files when on the extender. It works just fine streaming to my phone or TV over the extender.”
