Netfiix has new Profile Icons that pull from original programming
Believe it or not, it’s been five years since Netflix launched Profiles, the beloved feature that allows you to let others leech off your account — all without having their viewing history or ‘My List’ intrude on yours.
The streaming service is unveiling Wednesday new profile icons to coincide with the feature’s five year anniversary.
In addition to updating the original icons with refreshed colors and new 3D elements, you can set your icon to Kimmy or Titus from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye, or even Eleven from Stranger Things, bringing a new level of personalization and will be great news for fans of Netflix’s original content.
In total, there are over 100 profile icons that will be available on the Netflix app across devices, TVs, streaming boxes, and the web.
Ultimately these will let each user express more via his or her profile. It fits in with Netflix’s overarching mission to provide the best experience for customers, and at most, it should push people to use separate profiles if they aren’t already.
These new Profile Icons are rolling out to all Netflix accounts around the globe over the next few weeks.
