New iPhone SE teardown mashes it up with the iPhone 8
Tradition dictates that, with every phone launch, one shiny new device is offered up to the teardown gods. It may be painful to see warranties voided so immediately and completely, but knowledge demands sacrifice.
In this five-minute video, Jiang from AA Tech deftly disassembles Apple’s new iPhone SE and compares it to its predecessor: the iPhone 8. While the iPhone SE has an upgraded CPU, as well as a different camera and battery connector, many of the components are the same as the iPhone 8.
Some are even compatible, which Jiang demonstrates by Frankensteining parts of the two phones together like a more technologically advanced Sid from Toy Story — a very effective way to illustrate the similarities.
