These 13-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are $300 off on Amazon
TL;DR: New MacBook Pro models are $300 off at Amazon, including the 16-inch i9 MacBook Pro that just came out in November. These prices beat Best Buy’s Presidents Day sale prices.
If you missed Feb. 17’s Presidents Day sales, we don’t blame you — most people associate such holidays with deals on mattresses, furniture, and whatever other products local TV commercials can fit into 30 seconds.
But tech retailers have been going hard on these long weekend sales over the past few years. Best Buy was one of Presidents Day 2020’s biggest participants, offering $200 off nearly all MacBook models. Most are gone by now, but Amazon has since one-upped them: You can take $300 off the 2019 13-inch MacBook Pro (i5, 512 GB) or $300 off the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro (i9, 1TB).
The swapping of the long-hated Butterfly Keyboard to the new Magic Keyboard is reason enough to opt for this pricey model. But less-obvious internal upgrades could lead to plethoric entertainment experiences that MacBooks weren’t previously known for. Adding a few inches to the laptop’s coverage area made room for six speakers plus a new mic system with 40% hiss reduction. Bass is booming, sound is natural, and it’s some of the best audio that any laptop on the market puts forth.
Armed with the fastest consumer processor in the world and new AMD Radeon Pro 5500M, this 16-inch Pro might be the first MacBook that’s actually decent for gaming.
The newest 13-inch Pro came just a bit earlier in May 2019. While Apple had never released a 16-inch model before, the 13-inch has been a favorite for years and simply saw upgrades like faster 8th-generation processors and beefier TurboBoost. The shitty keyboard is still technically there, but Apple said the new “keyboard mechanism” is less likely to get stuck and easier to get fixed.
You’ll get a free year of Apple TV+ with any model that you choose.
