8K TVs are no longer just a CES spectacle, folks.

This assertion comes with LG’s 8K TV now being available for sale and Samsung’s 8K TV hitting stores in October. Sure, you can expect they’d be pricier than we’re used to — but if 8K is simply double the pixel resolution of 4K, you’d probably assume that 8K TVs are also just double the price.

Oh, sweetie, no. LG’s 8K TV is going for an inconceivable $42,000. That’s the same price as a brand new Audi 3.

Fortunately, Mashable’s Stan Schroeder says that you absolutely don’t need one. A 4K TV can give your living room just as noticeable of a glow up while costing a fraction of the price. This week, our hands-down favorite deal comes in the form of $1,300 off this 75-inch Vizio P-Series Quantum X TV.
