MacBook Air on sale for $249.01 off — its lowest price ever on Amazon
TL;DR: The bezel-less 2018 MacBook Air is on sale for $949.99, which is $249.01 off and its lowest price ever at Amazon.
You heard it here first, folks: Apple’s new MacBook Air, which was just released in mid-July 2019, isn’t that great.
While the model from November 2018 is still just as good of a purchase, you know stores will be hauling ass to clear its shelves for this new one. But that’s good for deal hunters: Just barely eight months old, the 2018 MacBook Air is on sale for $949 — its lowest price ever on Amazon.
It’s not technically in stock until July 30, but ordering now locks in the sale price.

Apple’s big thing with the 2019 Air model is that it’s a super-low $1,099. Impressively low for any MacBook, but is it worth spending the extra $150?
Nah.
The November 2018 MacBook upgrade was a much needed refresher and so much more memorable. It brought us the stellar new bezel-less design, a new Retina display with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and four million pixels, a Force Touch trackpad, and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. And possibly a point of sale for any sustainability sticklers: It’s the first Apple laptop made of recycled aluminum.

The new 2019 upgrades bring no changes to the exterior of the laptop. None, nada, zilch. The Retina display is brighter and more comparable to a MacBook Pro, which was a complaint about the November 2018 model. MacBook Airs still don’t have the Touch Bar, but Touch ID is integrated into the top row of keys.
Kind of surprisingly, there isn’t a difference in specs between the two models either (though maybe it’s not surprising, because they were only born eight months apart). Both have quick dual-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processors with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz as well as Intel UHD Graphics 617. Somehow, Mashable’s Ray Wong found that the 2019 model worked up to 15% faster than the older one, but the SSD is apparently slower than the previous model to cut costs.
You can decide whether the meh upgrades are worth the $1,099. Regularly $1,199, you can save $249.01 and snag the 2018 MacBook Air in silver, gold, or space grey for $949.99.
